Meet Al, a seasoned watchmaker with a lifelong passion for horology. Born into a family of craftsmen, Al’s journey in watchmaking began at a young age as he apprenticed under his father, a renowned goldsmith and watchmaker. His early years were spent mastering the intricacies of timepieces, disassembling and reassembling pocket watches with precision and care.
At 21, Al embarked on his formal apprenticeship in England, honing his skills under the tutelage of a master craftsman at Charles E. Green Jewellers. Five years later, he earned his certification from the British Horological Institute, marking the beginning of his illustrious career.
Upon relocating to Canada, Al co-founded Alberta Time Services, quickly establishing a reputation for excellence in watch repair. Their expertise garnered the trust of major jewelry stores in Alberta, leading to an exclusive partnership with Bulova as the authorized service center for Western Canada.
Over the decades, Al’s commitment to quality and craftsmanship remained unwavering. In 1998, he and his partner transitioned from a repair workshop to a retail store, opening their flagship location in the historic Penny Lane mall. Today, with 46 years of dedicated service, Alberta Time Services stands as Calgary’s longest-serving watchmakers.

Alberta Time Services is your premier source in Calgary for the servicing and repair of fine watches, including most major brands. We can also service, repair and restore vintage wrist and pocket watches as well as vintage and modern clocks. We can replace batteries while you wait. Vintage and antique wrist and pocket watch service and restoration is our specialty.
We also service and repair high-end watches such as Omega and Rolex.
We offer a range of services, from battery changes to complete restorations including dial refinishing. We also offer dive watch pressure testing. We guarantee our work for one year, and estimates for service are always free. In addition we accept repairs by mail, however we do request you contact us before mailing in a watch for an estimate.

We generally have a good selection of these watches on hand for your perusal. In addition we are proud to offer the Seiko custom dial program for promotional and commemorative custom dials.
We also carry a fine selection of watch accessories including straps and bracelets, as well as watch winders. We carry select jewelry, and can do jewelry repairs and engraving.
